Bio:

LuAnn Adams

has created and performed thousands of Storytelling Programs for children and adults in Schools (Assemblies & Residencies), Theaters,Public Libraries, Museums, Zoos, Aquariums, Girl/Boy Scouts, Hospitals, Special Needs Centers, and many other organizations in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Ohio, Kentucky and Idaho.

She has received 24 Touring Grants from the Cincinnati Playhouse to create and perform a new Storytelling Program ('93-'15) of "Folktales for the 21st Century", inspirational, multi-cultural stories that resonate in the lives of young people coming of age in the 21st Century. LuAnn has performed for the last 18 years at the Cincinnati Playhouse for the Rosenthal Next Generation Series of family concerts. She is excited to share stories in January 2016 at the Wharton Performing Arts Center, in East Lansing, Michigan.

Her education includes a B.A. in Theatre Arts and Child Psychology, (Macalester College), M.F.A. in Acting from the Mason Gross School of the Arts (Rutgers University) where she studied with Ed Stern, Bill Esper and Maggie Flanigan. For 20 years, she has created Family Animal Storytelling Program for the Bronx, Queens, Central Park & Coney Island Zoos and Aquarium in NYC.

For 5 years she conducted Storytelling Master Classes and Storytelling & Puppetry Workships at Northwestern University in Chicago, Ilinois.

LuAnn has delightfully shared stories in Vietnam, Egypt and Las Vegas.

LuAnn is currently a 'Sole Provider of Services' for the New York City Board of Ed. (Storytelling Residencies, Professional Development Workshops & Performances, Family Storytelling Nights.)

LuAnn is a member of the The National Storytellers Network, NY Storytelling Center, Actor's Equity, SAG/AFTRA,Puppeteers of America & The National Writers Union.
